He is a Group Leader since 2005, when he became Staff Scientist of the Spanish Research Council. He studied Biology in the University of Valencia and obtained his PhD in Biochemistry in 1998 for his work on polyamine biosynthesis in plants. As a postdoc, he joined the Department of Biology of UCSD (La Jolla, California), where he studied the core molecular mechanism of the plant circadian clock under the supervision of Prof. Steve Kay. Work in the Alabadí Lab is focused in the architecture of the signaling circuits that control early stages of plant development, and how plants integrate multiple signals to render the most appropriate response in each situation.
