Biology Department, Universitat de les Illes Balears
He studied Biology and obtained his PhD at UIB in 2000. One year later he became an Associate Professor of Plant Physiology, and since then he has received several awards, like the 2006 Young Scientist FESPB Award (under 35) in plant physiology (Federation of European Societies of Plant Biology). He is also one of the 'Highly cited authors' identified by Thomson Reuters. Major research topics in his lab are (i) plant responses to multiple abiotic and biotic stresses; (ii) photosynthesis; (iii) mechanistic basis of mesophyll conductance to CO2; and (iv) water use efficiency of plants.
